[re] 해석질문요^^

>이문장에서 맨끝에있는 that person to be 에서 to be 가 대부정사로 쓰인걸 알겠는데
>그 뒷부분에 생략되어 있는게 무엇인지 잘 모르겠네요

Answer) 먼저 how they'd prefer that person to be는  they'd prefer that person to be ~ 에서 ~가 how로 처리된것입니다.
~에 happy를 넣어서 문장을 만들어보면
they'd prefer that person to be (happy)  
이 부분만 해석하면, '그들(some people)은 그사람(the recipient)이 행복했으면 좋겠다'입니다.

>그리고 전체적으로 해석도 부탁해요^^

Answer)전체적인 해석은
얼마간의 사람들은 선물받는 사람에 대한  숨겨진 소망- 그들은 그(선물받는사람)가 어떠했으면 좋겠다와 같은 -을 반영하는 선물을 선택한다.
